Your WhatsApp chat, by the numbers

A WhatsApp chat analyzer reads a chat you export from WhatsApp and counts it up: how many messages you've sent, who sends more, when you talk most and the words and emojis you use. This one runs on your device, so your messages are never uploaded.

Your chat is read in this browser and never uploaded. Nothing is saved unless you add the totals to a love page.

How to use this tool

1

Export the chat from WhatsApp

iPhone: open the chat, tap the name at the top, then Export Chat, Without Media. Android: open the chat, tap ⋮, More, Export chat, Without media. Save the file or send it to yourself.

2

Choose the file here

Pick the .txt file, or the .zip file an iPhone makes. It's read in your browser; nothing is sent to us.

3

See your stats

Total messages, messages a day, who texts more, your busiest hour and day, a 24-hour chart and your top words and emojis.

4

Keep them, or put them on a love page

Screenshot the results, or add them to a love page: a website about the two of you with your photos, your songs and a letter.

Frequently asked questions

Is my WhatsApp chat uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by your own browser on your own device. The messages are never sent to our servers or stored. If you choose to put the results on a love page, only the totals go with them: counts, the busiest hour, top words and emojis.

How do I export a WhatsApp chat?

On iPhone, open the chat, tap the contact's name, then Export Chat and Without Media. On Android, open the chat, tap the three dots, then More, Export chat and Without media. WhatsApp creates a .txt file (or a .zip on iPhone) you can save to Files or send to yourself.

Does it work with iPhone and Android exports?

Yes. It reads both formats, 12- and 24-hour times, and the date orders WhatsApp uses in different countries. On iPhone you can choose the .zip file directly.

Does it work for group chats?

It counts every message in a group chat, but the “who texts more” comparison shows only the two most active people. It's made for one-to-one chats, especially with a partner.

Why are some words missing from the top words?

Very common words (like “the”, “and”, “und”, “que”, “ve”), links and your own names are left out, so the list shows the words that are actually yours. Photos, voice notes and deleted messages count as messages but not as words.

Is it free?

Yes, the analyzer is free with no signup. Putting the stats on a love page is free to build and preview; a love page costs $6.99 once when you send it.
